Cutting Plotter and Thermopress
A cutting plotter is actually a printer with a sharp blade instead of a printing head. It cuts the upper layer of double-layered materials. It is therefore perfect for the creation of stickers and iron-on patches. At FabLab we have a Roland GS-24 cutting plotter and Transmatic TMH-28 E thermopress, which is able to deal with tarpaulin up to lengths of 2.5 m. Ideally documents for the plotter should be imported in either EPS or AI formats for Illustrator 8 or lower. For the JPG or PNG formats, it is possible to use Image Outline, but success is not guaranteed.
